Stroke Quality Achievement Award

St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes St. Joseph's Hospital's commitment and success in implementing excellent care for stroke patients, according to evidence-based guidelines.

To receive the award, St. Joseph's achieved of 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality Achievement indicators for two or more consecutive 12-month intervals and achieved 75 percent or higher compliance with six of 10 Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality Measures, which are reporting initiatives to measure quality of care.

Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification

St. Joseph's Hospital has been named a comprehensive stroke center by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

This hospital is one of just eight stroke centers in Florida to receive this designation, which certifies St. Joseph's Hospital is recognized to deliver the highest quality care to stroke patients. 

JCAHO Primary Stroke Center CertificationJCAHO Primary Stroke Center Certification

St. Joseph's Hospital's Stroke Center is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

JCAHO is a quality oversight body for health care organizations and managed care in the United States. This certification confirms our commitment to a high level of care to patients and families affected by stroke and TIA. Most importantly, certified stroke centers rapidly assess patients, and provide complete diagnostic testing within 45 minutes of arrival to the hospital with acute onset of stroke symptoms. By meeting this standard, treatment options are created for the individual needs of each patient.
